Watercolor classes for adults
We have a great selection of watercolor classes for adults and our two instructors, Charlene Collins Freeman and Lynnea Mattson, are both experienced teaching artists.
Charlene is offering a 9 week workshop focused on glazing (painting in layers to achieve vibrant colors) and techniques for painting details. This Glazes and Details class will take place on Tuesdays, 9:30am - 12:30pm, from January 30 to March 27.
This class will focus on painting watercolors in thin layers, called glazing, to produce vibrant, glowing colors and on how to paint details with watercolors. These methods are my favorite ways to achieve exactly the color, level of detail, and brilliance I want. And it's fun! Lynnea offers an ongoing watercolor class for beginners and intermediate painters on Saturday mornings. 10:00am - 12:30pm. In this class, students explore watercolor with a splash of mixed media. Lynnea guides students through step by step projects to help master the joy of painting with watercolors. For more information and to register please email Lynnea at lynneadanceswithwater@gmail.com.
Both Charlene and Lynnea offer open studio sessions as well. In open studio sessions, students bring their own projects to work on with help from the teacher and peer interaction, these sessions are great for artists who already know what they want to work on. Occasionally lessons are presented for the entire class. Charlene's open studio sessions are on Tuesdays, 1pm to 3:30pm, and Lynnea's are on Wednesdays, 1pm to 3:30pm.
