The Sketching Addiction
We have several teachers at Cloud 9 that are sketchbook addicts. Among them are Charlene Collins Freeman, Gabriel “Gabi” Campanario, and Anya Toomre.
Charlene takes a group of students to Europe every year on a sketchbook adventure. Some participants are beginners, others are seasoned sketchers, and others are professional artists. In 2019 she is taking a group to Italy (Florence, Siena, and Cinque Terre). If you are interested in learning more about this art trip, click here. She recently posted her sketchbook pages from two trips she took in 2018, one to Italy and the other to New Mexico.
Gabi is an award winning illustrator, author and journalist best known for his storytelling work as the Seattle Sketcher at The Seattle Times, and as the founder of the global Urban Sketchers movement and nonprofit organization. Gabi leads Urban Sketching workshops and iPad Drawing and Painting with Apple Pencil and Procreate App at Cloud 9. To see a listing of his upcoming workshops, visit our page of Adult Classes.
Anya has lived and traveled extensively throughout her life and started keeping a sketchbook about five years ago. In addition to living throughout the U.S., she also lived in Japan, North Africa (Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco), the Netherlands and England. More recently she has spent significant time in Cuba. She offers travel sketching workshops at Cloud 9, along with food sketching workshops. Check our her offerings at Adult Classes.
