Do you cook or enjoy home-made food? Do you like to draw? Are there certain recipes that have been passed down in your family? This workshop will give you the opportunity to create and illustrate some of your favorite recipes.
This 6-week workshop invites you to explore some of the different ways to draw and illustrate recipes. I will use a sketchbook with ink and watercolor, but you are free to use the materials you prefer. Composition and design considerations will be addressed and discussed as will lettering. There will be many examples of illustrated recipes shared and elements and styles to consider. I will give you various challenges to illustrate recipes with different formats. This workshop will also give you time to enjoy the process of recording what interests you with certain recipes. It will also push you to think how to communicate in pictures rather than words. Do you want to draw the ingredients? Do you want to draw the actions of cooking? Do you want to draw the final product? Do you want minimal text or a lot?
There will also be an opportunity to contribute to and participate in a class recipe sketchbook project.
All skill levels welcome.
