Creative Writing at Cloud 9

We are so happy to announce that we are now offering Creative Writing at Cloud 9.

Welcome to Annie Carl, our creative writing instructor!

Annie’s first workshop is for adults and teenagers 16+

Sundays 5:00pm -6:30 pm on June 9, 16, 23, 30, July 7 & 14

This six-week workshop will introduce students to creative writing through free writing and different elements of storytelling: prose, poetry, stream of consciousness, essays, and short stories.

The first class will be an introduction to both writing and class structure. Each class will include a half hour of free writing from provided prompts. After the first class, we will cover one method of creative writing each week. The workshop’s goal is to build confidence and love of the written word through creative writing.

In Annie’s own words:

I love the written word in all its forms. I think a beautifully written scene can be as visceral and moving as any work of art.

I hold degrees in Journalism and English Literature, I participate in National Novel Writing Month (this year will be Year 11!), I've been published online, and I work as a freelance editor in my spare time.

When not striving to write the perfect scene (harder than it sounds!), I'm running The Neverending Bookshop, reading, knitting, and dashing to keep up with the Bookshop Toddler.
