You will be introduced to the basics of block printing and brave beginners will explore multi color block printing. This class is meant for the absolute beginner or returning printmakers.
$75 for all day 10am-3pm. Lunch break between 12-1.
Paper, cards with envelopes and two Speedball Easy Carve carving blocks will be supplied. More Speedball Easy Carve blocks will be available for purchase during class.
To use class carving tools, inks, brayers, and inking plates you will also need to purchase “Printmaking Supplies” on Emily's website for $25. This will allow you to use Emily’s tools and ink.
Come spend the evening trying a new art medium in a relaxing setting. Snacks, beverages, instruction and all art supplies are included.
If you’ve never tried printmaking this is a great way to be introduced. I’ll provided images for you to trace if you are not a drawer, carving tools designed for beginners, and an easy to carve printing block. You’ll be surprised at how satisfying it is to carve! We finish by printing our newly carved design onto greeting cards. Everyone will leave with their own set of handmade cards.
For experienced printmakers you can bring your own tools and images to work with.
