This is a four-week on-line colored pencil class for absolute beginners.  In this class students will become familiar with the various materials and techniques commonly used in colored pencil drawings.  Students will start by learning levels of pressure and different types of stokes to achieve a desired texture, then apply these skills to a drawing.  Students will also be introduced to blending method to create pictures images with depth and interest.  We will explore the various types of solvents used to blend colors and use of under-painting techniques used by various artists.  We will apply this information to a Cecile Baird cherry tutorial.  

The class will meet for two hours on Wednesday mornings and an optional studio time will be available on Sundays from 4:00 to 5:00pm (Pacific Time)

A supply list will be provided upon registration to help students combine these techniques into a finished picture.
