Are you interested in the art of drawing for children's books? In this class you can work on your own picture book project by creating a dummy book to send to a publisher or agent for possible publication and or as a gift to family and friends. You can illustrate your own story for kids or choose an existing folktale or favorite story.
Also you have the option of creating new portfolio pieces for the children's book market. The bonus with this class is each week Craig will be available for one online feedback session when you scan or photograph your work and email it to him.
For the classes scheduled to meet in person, we will be using Zoom to have live lessons online until the recommendation for social distancing is lifted Once we can meet in person at Cloud 9, I am happy to let students who would prefer to keep meeting online stay with that option. I will film my class live with the students who are participating in person.
About Zoom
The classroom code and password will be sent to you 30mins prior to each class. I recommend logging in 5-10mins prior to give yourself time to get set up.
You do not need a Zoom account to attend a meeting. Students will be able to share their work with other artists in class and are highly recommended to do so. Sharing our work is the best part about creating together and helps us stay connected. Students are encouraged to ask questions and chat during the lesson.
I recommend signing into Zoom a few days before our workshop begins and looking it over to better understand how it works. It is relatively easy but it’s nice to familiarize yourself with it before our class.
Craig Orback is an award-winning illustrator of over 20 children's books. Prerequisite: Basic drawing skills. Out-of-class drawing assignments required. Supply list will be provided upon registration.
