Whether you've tried printmaking before or not you are welcome to attend a virtual Drink & Ink in the comfort of your own home. In this Drink & Ink session we will be connecting to each other through a virtual conference platform called Zoom. Zoom is free and you do not need to make an account to attend a meeting. A meeting code and password will be sent out via email 30mins prior to class starting. Before class you will receive an image to work from to print at home. If you do not have access to a printer you can use your own drawing or design. A 15 minute brainstorming/sketching session will be offered prior to class if you need help working around not having a printer at home.
For this class you will need:
1 printmaking kit (includes 1 brayer, carving tool with three tips, black ink, 1 Speedy Carve block)
1 plexiglass sheet (or old picture frame, piece of glass, mirror etc. to roll ink onto)
pencil
Cards and/or Paper to print onto
If you’ve never tried printmaking this is a great way to be introduced. I'll walk you through the step by step process of working with the medium showing you how I work as I carve, ink and print. We finish by printing our newly carved designs on cards. Everyone will leave with a set of their own hand printed cards.
