This is a four-week, colored pencil class for absolute beginners.  Class will be 2 hours in length on Wednesdays with an additional optional studio/critique time available on Sundays from 4-5:30.  In this class students will become familiar with the various materials and techniques commonly used in colored pencil drawings.  Students will start by learning levels of pressure and different types of stokes to achieve a desired texture, then apply these skills to a drawing.  Students will also be introduced to blending method to create pictures images with depth and interest.  We will explore the various types of solvents used to blend colors and use of under-painting techniques used by various artists.  

Pictured references will be provided to help students combine these techniques into a finished picture.
