June 18 – July 23

6 week course - $200 All levels welcome

NOW on ZOOM

Explore different forms of nature from mushrooms, beetles, birds, seeds, flowers, fruit, lichen and more. Learn to sharpen your observation skills, explore textures, techniques and tackle 3 mediums to find your perfect fit. In this workshop, we’ll cover graphite pencil, color pencil and/or pen & ink. If you’re feeling adventurous, we’ll mix media as well. Maja will help you bring out the best in each medium and each form. Leave the course with a collection of beautiful pieces.

For newcomers, I cover the basics, step by step. For repeat students, I have new fun projects lined up.

HOW IT WORKS:

Before the workshop starts I will send out a ZOOM invite for all our classes together. Each week I’ll email some reference images for you to work from. I will show you examples of concepts, techniques, forms, and examples of artworks plus a video on how to create that day’s exercise. Then we sit and draw together. During class you can email me images of your artwork so that I can give you feedback and advice where needed. I’m happy to do a live review of everyone’s work. We can learn a lot from one another. I strive to make this course very interactive so that you forget that you’re drawing from home.

WHAT YOU NEED:

First two weeks: graphite pencils, drawing paper, eraser, sharpener, blending stick.

Week 3: ball point pens, drawing paper, graphite pencil, eraser

Week 4: felt tip pens (Copic, Faber-Castel or micron pens) - 0.3, 0.5. Drawing paper such as paper for pens, or paper for wet media - smooth. Brush pens also welcome.

Week 5 & 6: color pencils (polychromos or prismacolor), drawing paper, eraser, magic tape

BONUS: By signing up for any of my classes, you get invited to a private Facebook group where you can find more inspiration, more instructional videos as well as art community support. This is a safe space, only for my students, for sharing and feedback.
