Painting Christmas Ornaments with Oils

The holidays are just around the corner! Have fun exploring oils while creating a charming painting to add to your holiday décor or gift to someone special.

Online on Sunday, November 7 from 1pm - 3pm

In this Zoom workshop Susan will share with you:

- Step by step instructions on how to make a successful painting.

- Tips on brushes, what works when and how to use them

- Tips on color mixing. How to analyze a color and create a plan to mix it. 

 This class includes a two hour live Zoom session, instructional PDFs, videos to assist you on your painterly path and one year access to the class recording. 

Basic supplies needed for class:

- A table easel, floor easel or pochade box for holding your painting.  

-A glass, wood or disposable palette for mixing paint on.

- Oil paint - titanium white, ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson, cadmium yellow lemon, permanent red medium from Rembrandt (only the permanent red medium has to come from Rembrandt)

- Brushes - Aspen long flats in sizes 2, 4, 6 are preferred but most oil painting brushes will work. A small round brush size 1 or 2 for drawing.

- Canvas panels or gesso board sized 6x6 or 8x8

- Odorless solvent Gamsol, a small squeeze bottle for dispensing is helpful but not required and a jar with a lid for cleaning brushes

- Paper towels

- Palette knife is helpful for mixing paint and painting too!
