This workshop is all about bringing your passion for drawing/painting and nature together with a strong focus on COMPOSITION. You will have the freedom to work in a medium of your choice (or mix of mediums), any size and theme. Birds, wildlife, landscape, perhaps a narrative composition. You will learn what makes a successful composition - how to combine elements, how to balance them, what emotions are evoked through certain compositions. Learn how to work with reference images, how to study photographs and artworks to help improve your own work, how to create thumbnails of compositions and more. One of the 6 classes will be devoted to light and shadow which helps unify elements within a composition. This workshop is about making your art expression more personal while learning about composition and strengthening your art going forward. Depending on your drawing speed and dimension of work, you will be able to complete one or two compositions during our workshop together.

HOW IT WORKS:

Before the workshop starts I will send out a ZOOM invite for all our lesson together, including reference images for those of you who would like more guidance. I will show you examples of artworks, demo techniques and also create art pieces for you to either follow or be inspired by. Then we sit and paint/draw together. During class you can email me images of your artwork so that I can give you feedback and advice where needed. We can learn a lot from one another so it’s always wonderful to show your work to others. I strive to make this workshop very interactive.
