This workshop is based on the book Botanical Art Techniques by the American Society of Botanical Artists.

This definitive guide outlines major technique of botanical artistry. This workshop will focus on the chapter on colored pencil and will move from introductory to advanced—so every level of artist can build on acquired skills.

We will look at basics of using colored pencils such as pressure control, pencil strokes, layering of colors, blending and burnishing colored pencil, value, and incorporate these techniques into botanical drawings.

This workshop is one in a series being taught all year long as we explore this fabulous book on botanical art.

Each of the lessons will introduce new ideas and exercises, and challenge you to think about drawing and botanical art in new ways. You will get a creative workout, but in a relaxed, supportive setting.
