Classes are recorded and recordings are available up to 3 weeks after class ends.

All levels welcome.

If you love birds, this is a workshop for you! It’s all about learning the basics of drawing birds in graphite, and pen & ink. You will learn about basic forms, eyes, feet, beaks, feathers and more - how to sketch out a bird and it’s proportions. First you’ll draw with graphite and then with pens. You’ll be introduced to different types of pens as well as techniques so that you can discover which one is your favorite, helping you excel in your art practice. The main focus will be on small birds but you are welcome to pick your own reference images if you wish.

HOW IT WORKS:

Before the workshop starts I will send out a ZOOM invite for all our classes together. Each week I’ll email some reference images for you to work from. I will show you examples of drawing techniques, forms, and examples of artworks plus a video on how to create that day’s exercise. Then we sit and draw together. During class you can email me images of your artwork so that I can give you feedback and advice where needed. We can learn a lot from one another so it’s always wonderful to show your work to others. I strive to make this workshop very interactive.
