In this two-session class, you will learn the basics of pastel painting including discussion and demonstrations about the various forms of the medium (hard pastel, soft pastel, pastel pencils and pan pastels) and how to choose the best substrates for each. You will try your hand at exercises in mark making with each of the formulations on the various supports. By the end of the two sessions, you will be able to create small landscape painting.

A supply list and photo reference will be sent to students prior to class.
