Annie Carl, our creative writing instructor, is offering

EDITING YOUR WRITING
ADULTS AND TEENAGERS 16+

During this six week writing course we'll spend time working with a first draft piece of writing, helping the writer clean up and edit into something they can query to agents or publishers. We'll discuss how to write an effective query letter, and spend time discussing editing, what to look for in a second draft, and reading out loud during class (for those who feel comfortable to do so).

Materials: first draft of a piece of writing (length does not matter), pen, pencil, notebook/journal, computer

In Annie’s own words:

I love the written word in all its forms. I think a beautifully written scene can be as visceral and moving as any work of art.

I hold degrees in Journalism and English Literature, I participate in National Novel Writing Month (this year will be Year 11!), I've been published online, and I work as a freelance editor in my spare time.

When not striving to write the perfect scene (harder than it sounds!), I'm running The Neverending Bookshop, reading, knitting, and dashing to keep up with the Bookshop Toddler.
