Prerequisite: basic drawing skills.

Explore further a fundamental and fun part of creating children’s books. In this 5 week workshop you will learn how to create compelling children’s book characters for your own project or an existing story. You will also learn how to create environments that best match your expressive creations. Craig will provide examples of character studies, environments and research materials from his own published children’s projects as well as a diverse selection of examples from his extensive children’s book collection. Be prepared to draw and have fun!

Craig is an award-winning illustrator of over 20 children’s books for such clients as Simon and Schuster, Scholastic, Henry Holt Books and Little Brown Books.

Out of class drawing assignments required. Supply list will be provided upon registration.
