If you’ve always wanted to draw beautiful and realistic eyes - this is a workshop for you! We are going to draw a large variety of eyes in either graphite pencils, color pencil, ballpoint pen or pastel pencils - choice is yours! We’ll look at different pupil shapes, highlights, shadows and reflections. This workshop will show you how to draw eyes with confidence. You will have a variety of eyes to choose from.

HOW IT WORKS:

Before class you will receive an email with an invitation to Zoom, along with reference images for you to work from. During class we will watch a couple of demos, we’ll play together to get to know our supplies. This will be an interactive class so you’ll be able to ask questions and receive feedback/critiques from Maja. After the class you’ll receive a recording of the workshop so that you can review anything you might have missed.

WHAT TO EXPECT AND WHAT YOU NEED:

Week 1: mammalian eyes - graphite

Week 2: birds - pen or ballpoint pen

Week 3: amphibians or reptiles - color pencil or pastel pencils

Week 4: fish or marine eyes - medium of choice

Week 5: eye of choice - medium of choice

Paper: Bristol works well for most mediums. I recommend Pastelmat paper for pastel pencils or color pencils. Suggested artwork size 4 x 4 inches.

This is a safe space, only for my students, for sharing and feedback. Also, FREE open studio on Tuesday evenings. Email invites are sent out at the beginning of every month.
