Hybrid Class: one day on Zoom and one day at the park!

Join us for the first class in the Plein air painting series! Plein air painting the act of painting outdoors that was popularised in 19th-century France. It's a great way to learn value, composition, and get outdoors to enjoy nature. This beginner class will focus on sketching to learn the basics of drawing landscapes and work up to Plein air painting. Day 1 will be over Zoom to go through skills, techniques as you follow along with a demo on painting landscapes. Day 2 will be on location at Bothell Landin Park to put all those new skills to use. This class is great for all ages and levels. Come join us in the outdoors to learn a new skill and set yourself up for an art-filled summer.

Recommended Supplies

You can use any combination of similar supplies but these are the ones Leela will be using.

Small Toned Paper Pad

White Paint/Guache

Pencil (4B and darker are best)

Waterproof Pen

Water Container (You can use a jar or Tupper wear)

Masking Tape

We also recommend bringing:

- A comfortable bag or backpack for carrying your supplies

- Water bottle

- Hat (You need one to shade your eyes)

- A foldable chair

- Sunscreen

- Paper Towels

- A snack
