Sketchbook Workshop: Daily Documentation

ONLINE Sketchbook Workshop: Daily Documentation
ADULTS & TEENS 15+
TARA LARSEN CHANG & ANYA TOOMRE

Tuesdays, August 2 - 23 (4 weeks)

1pm -3pm (Pacific Time)

$125

All skill levels welcome.

Online using Zoom.

In this workshop we will look at some of the many ways to visually document our daily doings.

Drawing your breakfast, including a sketch of a pet, recording a snippet of conversation, adding in a ticket stub, including a flower or leaf are only some examples of what can be included. The possibilities are endless.

Discover what interests you most in recording your memories – making even the most mundane magical.

Looking at a variety of examples, we will discuss composition and overall page design, types of hand drawn lettering, and explore stylistic variations and options.

Anya and Tara will share their different artistic approaches, and provide live, real-time feedback as we work on our pages in class. Prompts provided if you feel stuck.

Each week we will share examples for inspiration and discuss what parameters to consider in creating your own daily documentations. You will have time in class to work on your own pages, as well as get advice on how to proceed as needed.

Email your progress before or during class and we’ll learn together as we share and discuss approaches and refinements. You should be able to easily complete at least one spread during our time together.

Don’t want to draw your daily activities? How about collage! You can utilize cut paper, rubber stamps, photos, or any other two-dimensional elements you desire!

Classes will be recorded, and recordings are available for up to 3 weeks after class ends.
