If you are curious about silverpoint but not sure where to begin this is a tutorial for you! What is SILVERPOINT? It is an old technique which was used by Old Masters such as Albrecht Durer and Leonardo da Vinci. It’s the process of drawing with metal such as silver, copper or gold on a drawing ground (gesso surface). This was commonly used before graphite.

This workshop will show you how to gesso your own paper and how to draw using a silverpoint. You will learn how to make different marks and how to shade while using nature as well as the old masters as our inspiration!

Upon registration, you will receive:

- Video demonstration on priming paper (2 min)

- Video demonstration “Introduction to Silverpoint” (25 min)
